I have had no problems at all. I use Clone DVD and everything worked great.
Maybe everyone thats having problems should try burning it that way. I dont even mess around with burning speed.
I am surprised at all the negative reviews this item has received, but I'm sure the people aren't lying, I just dont understand. Now I DONT stage it to the hard drive, I just make a temporary copy, and then it burns it to the DVD.
Although I have not bought these from Amazon, I did buy 30 of them from a local store. None.
I just let Clone to its thing and thats that.
I purchased some new DVD's from the CVS to make sure it was not my software and I had no problelms those DVD's, so it was the DVD's I purchased from the seller. I purchased a brand new pack of DVD's that were no good, every time I tried to burn a DVD it ended with an error. This is the first time I've every had a problem with something I purchased from a amazon seller.
Amazon has the best deal when it comes to this specific product. Thanks Amazon and Memorex. Not only the best double layer discs that I have worked with, but the price is the lowest around. I rarely get a bad dvd and most of the time is due to a bad burner or image and not the disc at all.
So I updated my firmware and yes it burned the first DVD after that the 2-9 DVDs crashes/freezes/etc. It turn out that the DVD fail to burn from the start stated "fail to burn". So all is said. I never believe in problems coming from factory wrapped DVD+R DL, but I was dead wrong. (better off donate it to Haiti) Even though my laptop didn't burn the disk from the start, my guess that this is an updated DVD only compatible with updated firmware.
stay away from Memorex DVD DL or say bye bye to 35 bucks like I did. Never thought I would be in the same mess like everyone. I have been using Ridata DVD+R DL for a long time and it was time to buy more DVD+R DL, so I went on amazon and saw this great deal and bought it. I am so pissed because these DVDs are junks, never had problems with Ridata.
Will never order these again. You will end up with more coasters than you have copies. Some will burn some won't. Makes no sense. These dvd's have got a serious problem. It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. I have used the same discs from Wal-Mart, not a 50 pack, but the same product with no problems.
